Financial aid can help make your NLU Degree of Difference more affordable

We recognize that continuing your education is a significant investment of your time and money, which is why NLU provides several options for financial aid. Explore potential financial aid options below; then connect with us to find out what you may qualify for.

The financial aid process all starts with completing and submitting your Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This will determine which forms of aid you are eligible for, including:

  • Grants such as the Pell Grant or the Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG); or
  • Loans such as federal subsidized and unsubsidized student loans offered through the U.S. Department of Education.

The state of Illinois offers financial aid options to Illinois residents who have completed and submitted their Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). If eligible, you can receive aid in the form of:

  • Minority Teachers of Illinois Scholarship: Awarded to eligible, academically talented minority students to pursue careers as teachers at nonprofit Illinois preschools, elementary and secondary schools.
